LA county fair, We will Rock you, future costumes and life. Random entry.

I've had a long and busy summer.   I have gone to many parties and get togethers with friends. Despite my exhaustion, it has been worth it.  I have helped out an old friend with Yard Sales and caught up with some great friends from the past.  I am glad we are all connected again!

Work has kept me busy with the summer reading club, library programs and events, to the point that I am still playing catch up.   And more stuff is happening and it's all good.   I am trying to read more fiction, because I have to be aware of more of the popular titles for reader advisory.   The webinars on romance and mysteries are helpful for me.  (I don't read either genre.  I read more sci-fi and urban fiction).  All of the webinars are on Booklist.com.  I need these because I always end up reading all of the New Non-fiction instead of all of the Fiction titles that come to my branch every month.

I saw We will rock you a couple of weeks ago for a friend's birthday! Yay!
http://www.wewillrockyou.com/ I normally despise musicals, (says the metalhead, prog rock, concert nerd), but because it was Queen's music, it was awesome!

I went to the LACF (LA County Fair) this past weekend and this was my decadent treat.   Bacon wrapped fried pickles and a beef kabob.  Good times.  I have tried all the deep fried Oreos and Twinkies.  I don't need to do that every year.

I didn't take pics of the wine tasting my friend and I enjoyed.  I should have.   What confused us was at the steampunk club at the fair was playing Taylor Swift.  Thus, I cannot classify this place as steampunk. You would think a Steampunk club would play industrial or trip hop? But not pop.

Our selfie after all of the shopping and festivities.  We have regular vendors we buy from and I got yet another toe ring on one of my toes on my left foot.

And onto costume ideas, the ninja turtle group cosplay for Comikaze is in progress.  We are going to make most of the weapons and make the shells out of cardboard.  We are going to wear tutus to our corresponding colors to keep it cute and girly! I decided to buy masks because it's sort of a pain making stuff out of felt.  My other costume for the other day at Comikaze is a surprise.

And yes, the Mister and I made it to Disneyland to celebrate our first wedding anniversary!

There is a hilarious picture of us out there on Splash Mountain somewhere.  We rode everything, but focused on riding Star Tours four times and Indiana Jones twice.  Lots of walking, lines were surprisingly short and much gluttony that day!
