Scarf of the week and earrings of the day! 1.31.13

I made Tiger Eye's and Green Moss Earrings to match my scarf I finished this week.

The plan was to use aventurine with the Tiger's eye, but i decided just to use the green moss beads.

I love these tiger's eye beads.  They compliment the earrings.

The pictures came out pretty dark, (sorry about that), but I used just plain metal findings.  As for the scarf, it took a few days and I used bulky Charisma yarn.

I used a 9.00mm hook and I like the results.  Here they are together!

Earrings of the day 1.30.13

The natural coral chipped beads are a beautiful pink.  I felt that Aventurine would complete this pink nicely.   Chipped earrings are relatively easy to make and put together.  I needed to do something quick because I had a lot to do this evening.

Platinum plated findings and sterling silver hooks......

Some of the beads were funky sizes.  The holes in these particular beads were in odd spots.

These worked, even though I didn't get them exactly even, but was faithful to the color sequence.

I am satisfied with the end result......

They say that wearing aventurine is great for good luck and balances emotions.  Green tends to be a money and luck color for people.  (I wore green today!) Aventurine is great for relieving stress and anxiety.  Coral is the essence of life and balances one's spirituality.  Both coral and aventurine are protection gemstones as well.

Earrings of the day....1/29/13

These are platinum plated butterfly findings from Michael's!  I wanted to make a pair of earrings with them with apatite stones.  Since, they are so small and delicate, I added crystal rock beads that were a tab bigger.

I wanted the butterflies on the bottom of the earrings.  They are lightweight and had a loop on top so this worked out.

The apatite stones were hard to get on and I figured they would be.

So I added the crystal rock beads.

The end result.  Not too long, but definitely, not too heavy to wear.

Earrings of the day 1.28.13

Garnets are a great stone to wear for vitality and good luck!  These Chinese garnet stones were another Michael's find and a bit on the heavier side.

I attempted to just make the earrings with the nugget stones, but realized that I had space for hematite spacers.  YAY!  It adds something to them.

Hematite is a great accent bead for any necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings.

End result is above.  They are a dark red garnet and will work with a lot of different outfits.   I have heard that Garnet is a great stone to wear for protection from theft or great to wear when you travel.

Earrings of the day! 1/27/13

These stones below are apatite gemstones!  They are very small and delicate beads!  It has been said that wearing this stone enhances creativity.  It's also a weight loss stone that people wear with Rose Quartz and snowflake obsidian!

The holes in the beads were super tiny, so it got challenging to work with them with the silver findings.

I added some tiny black jasper to the earrings for a little flavor......

And the end result.....

I worked on some knitting today at my mom's place.  I want to get different sizes of the apatite stones.  Ebay was a starting place for me to track these down.

Earrings of the day 1/26/13 with matching bracelet!

Hematite beads are heavy and easy to work with.  The Loops and spacers are from Michael's and were on sale this week!

I used stretchy cord with a black metal clasp.

The end result is above.  It's a bit heavy, but it works.  It's a great stone to wear for blood pressure and circulation.  It is also stated that wearing this stone increases confidence and intuition!  These stones break easily and the best way to wear them in jewelry form is in rings.  I have had countless of Hematite rings and they always break!  I love them though!

Now to the earrings.  I felt black findings would be suitable and these were done in minutes!

They are very heavy.  Some people like this, but it's not my thing.  I would remove maybe three spacer beads if I were going to wear these myself.  I have a few pair with just three spacer beads per earring.
Now the only things that are missing are rings and a necklace, which I have a few that would go nicely with this set!

Scarf of the week and Lego Friends Sets for the weekend! 1/25/13

I used my cozy wool yarn to finish this one!  And it came out even.  Crochet stitches are getting easier! I like the tools because it's easier to transport and carry around in comparison to the Loom!

I didn't need to go too long for this one because I ended up giving it to a petite friend at work!

I think it turned out pretty warm and cozy!  And to make my Friday brighter, my 4 friends sets came in the mail.  I am giving one of the sets to Austin for him to part out for certain colors and pieces he could use.  (I already have that set! :))

I love this girly series!  I still am missing many sets, but I'll build the collection slowly.  I really like the colors and new bricks!  The mini figures are something to get used to though.  They are adorable, but I wish they were like actual the mini figures!

Earrings of the day 1.24.13

I have a few Amethyst rock beads left and some Sterling Silver findings.  I wanted to start out with the fake pearls, but they didn't work out.  The holes in the beads were too small.

So I decided to work with crystal rock round beads.

And of course they fit.............I started out with two crystal beads in a row, but that didn't seem to work.

Did some adjusting and moving around on the finding....

And now for the end result:

I didn't expect to go so "bright" for these pair, but they work!
