Optimus Prime Cheerleader costume!

I know I have been on a Transformer kick lately, but Bot Con is coming and we are pretty pumped about it in the Welch household.   I had an idea to do a Optimus Prime cheerleader costume and here is what I came up with at first.

I bought this at a thrift store in LA for next to nothing.  Then, I tried it on and felt the skirt was way too short.  Bot Con is a convention, not a nightclub.  Plus, the midriff top may be a little too much. So, I went shopping for a different skirt and found this one.

 I bought this red top online and it just seemed to make more sense.

  It made more sense to me to have a blue bottom and red top.  (The Mr. agreed. )

There are a few patches that I wanted to add to the red top.  The Optimus head for the center of the shirt and two small Optimus patches for the arm/shoulder area.

I glued the patches to the red top.

I had all the the accessories figured out.  Such as adding blue legwarmers,  blue gloves and blue, red and white pom poms.

Maybe sometime in the future, I will have the time to make an Optimus Prime-like headband.  This may be worn for Botcon 2013 or Botcon 1014, we shall see!
