Apatite Bling!

These apatite pendants were ordered from England and they were larger than I expected.  As a result, they had to be on necklace ribbon cords, because the satin necklace cords I have are way too thin for these bling bling pendants.

Both are a clear apatite stone and I assume they are synthetic.  They are still pretty anyway.  I am using the pendant ready pendant cords in blue and black.

One looked better with the blue ribbon necklace cord and the other apatite pendant looks more vintage, so I used the black ribbon necklace cord with the other one.

As I have mentioned before, apatite aids in weight loss by raising the metabolism and curbing the apatite.  Yellow apatite apparently helps reduce cellulite.  Blue is the color of the throat chakra which represents peace, clarity, expression and truth.  It is in the thyroid area which explains why this stone represents weight control.  Also,  Haxworth explains that  "Apatite expands knowledge and truth easing sorrow, apathy and anger."   She goes on to explain that it helps the body absorb calcium, healing bones and rebuilding new cells! (Food for thought!  I learned something today!  All the more reason why I like this gemstone.!)

2 Pairs of earrings for today!

It was a two pairs day!  I wanted to use more blue beads in my earrings and make them both with sterling silver findings.  I have some blue Lapis Lazuli chipped beads and other gemstones, but I find myself using more pinks in my pieces.  People like blue, because it seems it matches more outfits and you can blue earrings with jeans.

For the first pair I made tonight, I used Lapis Lazuli chipped beads and two sodalite round beads.  I wanted to put the round beads at the bottom because of the thickness of the bead compared to the chipped beads.

The result.......

Now for the second pair, I wanted a splash of pale blue, so I used my tiny blue apatite beads with rose quartz.

I realized that the rose quartz bead was too large to add a second one so I had to make a small change.

Well, that didn't work, so I decided to make a change and place another small apatite bead at the bottom.

There was just enough space for a hematite spacer bead at the top!

It seems to work.....

Earrings of the Day and Apatite pendant! 3/9/13

I wanted to use one of my apatite pendants for the light blue ribbon choker I had.  This was easy!  The pendants are on the larger side, so it doesn't look too bulky partnered with the choker.

A pendant of this size should be partnered with a thick ribbon choker.  It wouldn't look right on a thinner satin or leather cord necklace.

The stones may be synthetic, but they are still pretty.

The end result.......

Apatite with a touch of peridot and garnet.  I wonder if wearing this will really help suppress the appetite?

My friend Donna requested that I make something in purple, lavender or blue for her.  Thus, I started with some Lapis Lazuli chipped beads and some sterling silver findings.   The fish hooks are my favorite type of earrings to work with.  Lapis lazuli is a truth gemstone and it has such a rich blue color!  It is a great stone ti wear with jeans!

The purple stones able the blue chipped stones are chipped Amethyst beads, but I'm sticking to the Lapis Lazuli this time.

I chose shorter posts for these because chipped bead earrings look better on shorter posts.

The End result.....

One pair down, another pair to go!

Toy and Jewelry finding run!

It's been a busy week.  I didn't have much time to make anything, but I did pick up a few things in passing. The chipped Peridot beads were a find that I am pretty excited about.  I want to use those with some of the citrine chipped beads I have.  Spring is almost here and it's time to break out those stones that represent spring colors.  The Mookiate chips are interesting and I liked the dyed green jasper. I found some pretty pendants that are nearly gawdy, but not too gawdy for chokers.  One pendant is Citrine and Apatite, one is just an Apatite stone and another is Apatite with two small peridots and one small garnet from what it looks like.  They were bigger than I would like, thus I am planning on connecting them to a ribbon choker.

Tuesday morning had some findings and Barbie Clothes I picked up.

Tuesday Morning is a great close out store that always has something cool.  I even picked up a Betsy Johnson dress I have been eyeing for months for eight bucks!  It's a purple corset style dress and crushed velvet.  (Something for Club Discord!).  Anyway, the Barbie clothes there are a find, because they are nearly 70 percent off!  Barbie clothes get pretty expensive and some of the "I can be...".line are showing up at Tuesday morning, TJ Maxx and Marshall's.   I found an Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Transformer figure at Marshall's for a fraction of what they are going in the stores right now.  It's the Transformers Prime series. I have been looking for one figure to complete our Generations Devastator figure, but no such luck.  Maybe Target in the next few weeks?

Earrings of the day....1/29/13

These are platinum plated butterfly findings from Michael's!  I wanted to make a pair of earrings with them with apatite stones.  Since, they are so small and delicate, I added crystal rock beads that were a tab bigger.

I wanted the butterflies on the bottom of the earrings.  They are lightweight and had a loop on top so this worked out.

The apatite stones were hard to get on and I figured they would be.

So I added the crystal rock beads.

The end result.  Not too long, but definitely, not too heavy to wear.

Earrings of the day! 1/27/13

These stones below are apatite gemstones!  They are very small and delicate beads!  It has been said that wearing this stone enhances creativity.  It's also a weight loss stone that people wear with Rose Quartz and snowflake obsidian!

The holes in the beads were super tiny, so it got challenging to work with them with the silver findings.

I added some tiny black jasper to the earrings for a little flavor......

And the end result.....

I worked on some knitting today at my mom's place.  I want to get different sizes of the apatite stones.  Ebay was a starting place for me to track these down.
