I finally finished it. The Decepticon scarf

Red heart yarn has team color combos that have been all over Joann's and Walmart for over a year or two now.    I bought the red and white combo for the Autobot scarf I made a few months back and the purple and white combo for the Decepticon scarf shown below.

I used a medium rectangular loom and used 14 rows.

This was the progress earlier tonight.   I tend to loom knit faster than I do crochet.

I added some tassels at the ends and didn't want to make this too long.

Because I am still learning how to do patterns, I didn't knit in the insignia.  Maybe I will try that in the future as my knitting improves.  Thus, I hot glued the patches on the bottom of the scarf.

And the end result........

Autobot Accessories! Pendant Necklace and Scarf

I bought these chalk based beads off eBay.  They didn't have many available and I have six beads total in different colors.  It would be neat to make earrings, but these beads feel a bit heavy for that.

This was not as easy as it looked, I used extra hoop findings and metal pieces.   I was going to make two, but I only had time to make one tonight.  I plan on making more necklaces in all different colors and I hope to be done in time for Bot Con.   I hope to make a few pairs of earrings too!

I added a black plastic bead at the bottom and just used one pendant bead for the necklace.

I have been working on a scarf on the loom for a while now.  I have extra autobot patches that I intended to use for this scarf.  The result is below.  It took longer than usual and I was happy that it at least came out pretty even.

I hope I have time to start a Decepticon scarf this month in purple and white.......

Prowl Baby Blanket Attempt

I attempted to knit an Autobot baby blanket in Prowl colors and I think I'll just call this one the prototype.

Loom knitting is easy, when you are not knitting a pattern.  This took a long time because I haven't had much time to really concentrate on a particular long time knitting project.  I wanted to practice making an autobot pattern on a loom first before I attempted a crochet project with an autobot logo.  I still need to practice loom knitting and crochet.

I think I am going to give myself a break from the patterns for awhile and allow myself to get back into the swing of things with loom knitting.   Again, this is my first attempt and a prototype.

I plan on knitting some scarves with autobot and decepticon colors, but this time I'll just iron on the logos for the scarves!

Scarf of the week 1/20/13

So I started this scarf on the loom this week and because it's wool yarn, I didn't want to make it too thick.  This color was bought at JoAnn's and it was a clearance color.  A very light lavender and it just seemed to plain to me.

Loom knitting goes by pretty quickly. ( It's almost like cheating with knitting!).  I saw these little ribbon roses and thought hmmm......I can add these to the scarf when I am almost finished.  This scarf turned out well, but I wanted to add something extra without knitting flowers...

Not bad for a first attempt.  I think I'll get the bigger roses next time or try different flowers.  Michael's had these in the dollar bins at the check out line.  These were hard to put on.  Some actually came apart.

I like working with the wool and cotton yarns!  They are warm and they don't fuzz up as quick as the acrylic yarn.

Blue Blend scarf.....1/5/13

I began a loom knit scarf three days ago.  This acrylic yarn by Loops & Threads is great to work with!  It's soft and a 8 mm Crochet needle can do the job.  I love the variety of colors they offer.  The blues and browns blend is gorgeous!

This yarn isn't a Thick and Quick yarn but it works just as fast.  The colors blend and merge together nicely.

Not much time for knitting....

I had a goal this year about knitting for the holidays and that goal was to start seriously knitting by June.  Didn't happen.  With crazy things happening with work and my living situation, it just didn't happen.  I have gotten some things done and the kitties are either sleeping, watching and trying to help....Especially Blue.

fer
It's the end of the year again and it's funny, there is always time for shopping for projects, but never enough time to finish these projects.

I have finished a few items, but I am not nearly as far along as I could be.  I have about 9 days left to complete 6 different projects.  Time to get back to work!
