On buying craft supplies and crafting......My advice to a best friend.

One of my best friends is going to start making jewelry. I am so excited because she is so creative and amazing!  She is an artist!  A poet, painter, musician, writer, sculptor, talent architect, genius.... you name it, she can do it!  She was worried that she spent too much money on findings.  (see the pic above, those are her Michael's purchases).   I don't think so!  You can never have too many findings and supplies!  When she sent me this pic, she was considering taking some things back and I suggested that she did not.

You don't have to be an expert at crafting and making things.  We are all novices at various things and that is OK.   It takes practice to become experts and even then, the experts are harder on themselves than other people are on them!   It's all about being creative, having a good time and having a hobby that you enjoy.  Why spend free time on something, if you do not like to do it?  I know I don't.    But my point is this.  If you want to try something, do not worry about what others may think or if you are doing it right.  There is no right way, just give it a shot.  You never know what may work for you!  You can learn from others and they can learn from you.   Crafting is all about having fun and creating things that appeal to you!  I cannot wait to see some of the things that she comes up with!  I'll be sure to share them here, if she chooses to share her creations with me.   I love you Meg!!!

  1. I agree with you, if you enjoy something, do it. Naturally, a person will continue to get better and better.

  2. I agree Amber, people should just explore their interests and see where it takes them.
